Our common ancestor, Thomas BATES arrived in Sydney Cove 27 June 1790 per the Neptune. We are celebrating the 220th anniversary of his arrival on

Saturday 26 June 2010.

Suggested program:

9.30am         Meet at Circular Quay, McDonalds

10.00am       Walk to Customs House, view model of Sydney under glass floor

10.30am       Walk to 2nd Fleet monument and Cadman’s Cottage, Sydney Cove.

10.45am       Fortune of War Hotel, view old Sydney maps, Hyndes, Clayton, Green

11.00am        Lang Park, site of original church (Thomas & Ann) and St Philips

                   MAIN EVENT

11.30am        Meet  at Westpac Place, the KENS Site, Kent, Erskine, Napoleon, Sussex Streets, Sydney

                   BYO Picnic lunch    -  Reunion Play – group photos – view plaques

2.30am         Monorail/Walk Pyrmont Bridge to Maritime Museum and Welcome Wall at Darling Harbour.  Tour Endeavour replica &ANMMuseum.

5.30pm        Early dinner at Darling Harbour food court

Sunday 27 June 2010 - Ideas

Visit the Rocks Visitor Centre or The Rocks Discovery Museum

 Take ferry to Darling Harbour, Balmain or Parramatta. Visit Fort Denison.
