Seeking descendants of the children of Robert COWIE, born Dundee Scotland 1841, died Dunedin NZ 1909 and his wife Christina ROBERTSON, born Methven Scotland 1838 and died Dunedin NZ 1916. They are buried together in the Southern Cemetery, Dunedin, in an unmarked grave. Robert and Christina, together with six of their children emigrated to Port Chalmers, New Zealand in 1877. Ann Robertson COWIE born 1862, John Robertson COWIE 1864, Isabella COWIE 1866, Christina COWIE 1869, all born Methven, Perthshire, Marion Adie 1871 and Helen Robertson Cowie, born 1875 in Kingussie, Inverness. There was also another son Robert born 1878 and another daughter Fanny Graham COWIE born 1881 in Invercargill SLD after the family emigrated to Otago, New Zealand in 1877 on the Marlborough. |

I visited the Alexandra Cemetery in Ngapara Street, Alexandra, when I was in NZ in September. The inscription on the grave reads: In Loving Memory of our Parents
John Cowie
Died 10 September 1942, aged 79 Years
Also Mary
